Today is a Happy Happy Day! :D

Today is a happy happy day… but a very tiring day, indeed.

I woke up really early and prepared to go to school. Then I went to school. Then I had some handouts printed… Then by 8am, I was on my way to Makati. I had an interview at Pacific Healthcare Phils. Inc. for internship. As it turns out, the one in charge of hiring interns is someone from UP Manila! Haha. 😀 The interview was light. Very light actually. We just talked about my schedule… and my expectations. Lolz. I hope they’ll pick me coz they’ll only get 2 interns! How I wish I’m of the 2. 😀

Since walking around Makati made me tired, I wanted to sleep while on the bus back to UP Manila. However, I was texting Steph and Wilmar.. Hehe. So I wasn’t able to rest. But it was okay. 🙂

When I got back to school, I was supposed to watch Ate Joyce’s seminar… However, I felt restless because I don’t have the complete handouts yet for the next week’s exams. 🙁 So I skipped watching her seminar and went instead to the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department to borrow handouts from the profs. 😀 After photocopying them, I was so happy! 😀 No more worries… and I don’t have a reason NOT to study. Haha! More pressure, really.

Anyway, the last batch of defense was held earlier from 1-5:30 pm. Actually, it was nearly 6pm when we finished.

The last 4 groups presented their synthesis from 1-5pm. After that, we paused for a break and had an awarding ceremony after. The results were quite unexpected!!!

There were 4 awards, namely: Best Critic, Best Defender, Best Presenter, Best Group Presenter. For each award, there were 3 nominees. Nakakatuwa yung prizes! 😀 Sobrang dami kasi… hehe. 😀

Each nominee will receive an additional of 10 points in the defense grade. The winner will receive a perfect score in the defense grade. Defense is equivalent to 15% of the total laboratory grade in Pharm Chem 27.

Aside from academic incentives, there were also stomach incentives… Hehe.

Best Critic (awarded for the quality and NOT the quantity of questions asked)
Nominees: Joanna Blanco, Aldin Jamison, Perry Rivera
Prizes: Each nominee received 1 pack of Flat Tops. The winner received an additional of 1 party pack of NIPS.
Winner: Joanna Blanco

Best Defender (awarded to the person who answered the questions with the most conviction… apart from being correct, that is.)
Nominees: Aldin Jamison, Perry Rivera, Gerry Taniajura
Prizes: Each nominee received 1 pack of Flat Tops. The winner received an additional of 1 party pack of NIPS.
Winner: Perry Rivera

Best Presenter (awarded based on fluency, mastery, and delivery of the part assigned to him/her)
Nominees: Elaine Mabilangan, Revina Que, Jean Monique Sanchez
Prizes: Each nominee received 1 pack of Flat Tops. The winner received an additional of 1 party pack of NIPS.
Winner: Jean Monique Sanchez

Best Group Presenter (based on, among other things, harmony between members, mastery of report, etc.)
Nominees: Group of Baking, Dycaico, Sanchez; Group of Caquilala, Carino, De Guzman; Group of Jamison and Saquido
Prizes: Each group nominee received 2 packs of Flat Tops. The winners received an additional of 2 party pack of NIPS.
Winner: Group of Baking, Dycaico, Sanchez

Really… all the awards were unexpected. But we’re all so thankful for it. 😀

Syempre, all the glory goes to God. Ang galing galing talaga ni God. Akalain mo nga naman…We were the first group presenter kasi. So akala ko baka hindi masyado mapansin coz ganon usually nangyayari pag first eh. Hehe. Pero advantage din yun for us dahil hindi ganon kadami nagtanong sa amin. Haha. At wala pa si Mam Tan, who is the best critic ever. Thankful din kami ng 1st kami kasi maaga kami nakapagpahinga…

Ang saya lang din coz lahat ng pinagpaguran namin, may napuntahan. Yung pagpupuyat ko… Bihira lang kasi ako magpuyat. Usually 10pm tulog na ko. Yep, kahit may exam. Pero dahil sa defense, umaabot ako ng 3am sa harap ng computer. At gigising ng 5:30 am. Hm… Kaya siguro lumabo yung mata ko lalo. Hehe.

Ang saya din kasi ang daming prizes. Hehe. Tig-isa kami ni Ate Joyce at ni Jambol ng pack ng Flat Tops at NIPS. Yung Flat Tops, tinago ko. Haha. 😀 Yung NIPS, pinamigay ko. Wee. Ang saya talaga. First time ko ata kasing ma-awardan ng ganon. Very memorable.
