Still in Miag-ao (April 15, 2009)

On this day, the Kule peeps are the first ones to wake up and eat breakfast. ^__^ We wanted to maximize our time. We ate early… then we waited for a chance to interview Ate Shan. But she’s still busy so we asked someone what our agenda for the day is. She told us that we’ll be leaving Miag-ao by 1pm. Bus arrives at 1pm but we all have to check out by 12noon. Before that, we have the time to ourselves. 🙂

We planned on visiting Miag-ao Church but since they told us that we’ll be dropping by there later on our way home, we decided to visit the Miag-ao beach again.

We went back to the dorm and in 10 minutes we were ready to take a swim! 😀 We really slathered sunblock on our skin to prevent skin damage caused by UV rays. Off we went to the beach!

We had so much fun there! The beach was like all to ourselves… except for a few locals who were out playing as well. Anyway, the water was sooo clear and the sky… my oh my. The view was really perfect. And the sun was up but we slathered sunblock prior to going out so we didn’t get 10 shades darker. Hehe.

Pao and I were our usual playful self. I miss Pao. She makes me feel like a kid again. hehe The others treated like I’m their mom during the trip kasi. 😛

A few meters away, we saw a boat! 😀 So we took some pictures there… and then we heard a hoard of snickers. Turns out that the locals we saw playing earlier were the ones who own the boat. They then signaled that it’s okay for us to borrow it. They even shouted that we could go ride in it. Thanks but no thanks.

After a while, we went back and joined the others. We saw Austin and MK taking pictures in a larger boat! 😀 And they were so far out from the shore already so we helped them go back to the shore by tugging on the rope. They couldn’t just jump out because the water is filled with those black jellyfishes. We played tug-of-war for a bit… with the water current as our opponent. Lolz. 😛

Then some boys went out for a ride on the much smaller boat… when they got back, they played around with the black and blue jellyfish and they tried to “mate” them. Poor thing. 🙁

Pao and I were pleading to get them back in the waters so they won’t die. Eventually, the boys tired of playing with them and they gave it back to Mother Ocean. See the blue jellyfish below… it’s a rare sight!

Since it was almost 11:30, we decided to go back to the dorm. But first we passed by the lady mermaid statue. I’m sorry but I forgot what it’s called. 😛 It’s a symbol of their pioneer courses–fisheries and ocean studies. Anyway, we took some pictures with it then went to “facade” with the bushes shaped as “UP VISAYAS”. Took some pictures with it as well. Then the last pic is something I grabbed from MK’s Facebook account… it’s a picture of the Oblation and a building behind it. A replica of the Quezon Hall in UP Diliman. 🙂 When you see it, you’d think you’re in Diliman. 😀

So we went back to the dorm. Took a bath AGAIN. Then packed our bags. It was 12:30 when we decided to have some lunch at Heaven’s Bliss. A very nice place to eat since they serve meals at the price of 27 pesos! Really heaven! 😀

After that, we waited for the bus and then we were on our way back to Iloilo City.

We were supposed to visit Miag-ao Church but since a delegate from UPLB has a flight scheduled to leave at 3pm and the time was already 2pm, we skipped the Church. It will take him 2 hours to go to the airport. I hope he was able to get there on time though.

Pictures taken in Iloilo City are coming right up! 🙂
