During my first visit at YummySoy, I tried their hot soy milk. Yesterday, I went there again to try their chilled beancurd and cold soy milk. 🙂
I was so excited to visit and try out their melts-in-your-mouth chilled beancurd aka taho! You should try this particularly if you want something healthy for dessert or snacks. YummySoy says that their beancurd is smooth and silky and that they use 100% non-GMO beans.
This time, I got to try 5 of their best-selling variants! I hope they don’t think I’m matakaw (a glutton). Haha! The kind old ladies beside me were staring at me and my feast. O_o
First, there’s the plain old original chilled beancurd.
It’s simply the plain version of the taho that we all love. Perfect for those who are on a diet! 🙂
Now, for those who want more sweetness… there’s the original chilled beancurd with pearl.
The tapioca pearls added sweetness to the otherwise plain beancurd. They’re also very chewy! This reminded me of mornings way back my childhood days when I would wait for the magtataho (hot beancurd peddler) and savor the 5-peso to 10-peso hot taho with lots of sago and arnibal. But of course this time, it’s cold.
I’ve tried several chilled taho from various shops and even in supermarkets and this one is by far the most superior of them all. As you can see, the beancurd looks very smooth. Upon taking a spoonful, I immediately noticed the texture and its taste. YummySoy delivers on their claims that it is smooth and silky. Yes, it really melts in your mouth! In the words of my professor, “walang sabit!”
Next is the almond flavored chilled beancurd with coffee jelly.
This one is a favorite! 🙂 It looks very sweet but it has just the right amount of sweetness. The coffee jelly pairs well with the almond flavor plus the smooth and silky texture making this a winning combo! ♥
Next is the dark chocolate-flavored chilled beancurd.
If you know me personally, you’d know how much I love chocolates, especially the dark ones! 🙂 I was so thrilled to try this that I took a spoonful first before taking a picture. Haha! I was expecting a strong bitter chocolate taste given the name but I guess that wouldn’t appeal to many. So they came out with a version that has a chocolatey taste yet with mild sweetness. Next time, I’d try this with coffee jelly. I think that would be a better pair. 🙂
And the last one I tried, is the strawberry-flavored chilled beancurd with strawberry popping boba.
What is popping baba? It’s boba (also commonly referred to as “bubbles” or “tapioca pearls” ) with juice that ‘pops’ inside your mouth. This one has strawberry juice inside. When you place it inside your mouth, it’s still quite firm. It’s only when you bite on it that the juice comes oozing out. It’s yummy and quite an experience!
The strawberry popping boba and the strawberry flavored chilled beancurd is quite a tasty match. Among the five that I have tried, the almond with coffee jelly and this one are my ultimate favorites! ♥ ♥ ♥ I loved it so much that I finished it all. Haha!
Then they served me with 2 variants of their cold soy milk: original and almond-flavored.
I tried their cold soy milk in almond flavor. I love how the almond extract blended well with the soy resulting in a mouthful delight. If only they serve this hot, I’d definitely buy this regularly!
Here are 2 pictures to sum up my visit:
By the way, I also met with their Operations Manager, Mr. Herminio. 🙂 He was there the whole time and he was very kind to assist me with all my questions and to tell me all about their products. Turns out that there wasn’t much demand yet for hot soy milk here in the Philippines. That’s why they’re made to order (and the reason why it takes a bit of time to prepare). But I really hope that they’d offer more flavors of hot soy milk soon. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who wants it hot. Haha!
So to everyone who wants to try affordable and yummy soy products, go visit YummySoy!
Thanks Brice and Herminio for the YummySoy treat! ♥
